You and/or your baby may have complex needs outside of those traditionally covered by birth and postpartum doula support. This service provides you not only with the information, but a guide in finding, completing, submitting, and maintaining services for you or your baby.

These may include:

  • Navigation of infant interventional services such as physical or speech therapy, developmental specialists, etc.
  • Navigation of state and federal resources/funding programs
  • Creating complex medical need care plans
  • Coordination support for family/friend/community to manage mom or baby's needs
  • Identifying, scheduling, and communication with specialty medical services providers
  • General support navigating health insurance (private, CHIP, Medicaid, etc)

Due to the unique nature of this service, the associated cost would be estimated upon review of client needs, with a final cost agreed upon by the client and myself. Changs to the Complex Needs Navigation package throughout the support period may require a mutually agreed upon adjustment to the cost and associated support(s).

Need is considered on a case-by-case basis, with Pathfinder Birth Works birth and postpartum clients receiving preference.

Client Support Promise

Supporting Multiple Pregnancies

As a standard practice, I support a maximum of two clients per month. This allows me to ensure that my attention, time, and focus is on you and your birth journey.

This also means that I may not be able to support every client who reaches out. If I am unable to support you, I'm happy to assist you in finding and connecting with other birth doulas in the area.

Every path to birth is unique. Let me ensure your doula support is personalized for you.

Experiencing pregnancy, labor, and delivery for the first time is a journey for you. I'll be there for all of your questions, wonderfully anxious moments, and your beginning as a new parent.

A doula can support and guide a birth experience, no matter how many times you've been in the delivery room. Reflecting on your prior births to create a plan towards the next will be our focus. Addressing past birth trauma and supporting you through your next birth are part of my role.

complex birth

When baby or mom has been diagnosed with complex medical needs, the support from pregnancy to birth and into postpartum can be overwhelming. We'll plan with these complexities in mind and ensure attention to emotional and mental preparedness. This is a cornerstone of my approach.
