Our Story

While my own birth experience was unconventional due to the COVID pandemic, with the birth of my first child in 2021. I was fortunate to have a doula who supported me virtually through birth education, birth planning, and teaching me informed decision-making.

While I felt confident and ready to use the tools I learned from my doula, my partner and I went into the birthing suite without his presence. Much of the birth plan I had laid out was unrealized. This challenging experience was magnified by my daughter's delayed congenital heart defect diagnosis.

My Partner and I were left to navigate a traumatic birth experience, a serious and complex hospital stay for our daughter, and the waves of complications, hurdles, and emotions that came along with it.

By facing these often-complicated challenges and frequently isolating experiences, I emerged with the knowledge, strength, and a renewed voice of self-advocacy. I also found my passion for doula work, determined to assist others in having positive, supported, and health birth experiences.

lessons learned

Informed by my own experiences during pregnancy and the birthing process, I focus on elevating parents' voices so that they are heard throughout the birth journey. Experienced under pressure, I will confidently guide you through this unpredictable and extraordinary time.

Training & Education

Since entering the Doula space, I have grown my education and training through a variety of accredited, national or international recognized organizations in a variety of doula specialties. My education and experience in the birthing space continues each day, whether through lessons learned in the pursuit of superior care for my clients or through additional certifications in the classroom. Currently I have been formally trained in:

Postpartum Doula Support - Doulas of North America (DONA) International

Basics of Child Birth - Doulas of North America (DONA) International

Basics of Lactation Support - Doulas of North America (DONA) International

Postpartum Mood & Anxiety Disorder (PMAD)Practitioner - Postpartum Support International (PSI) WV

I am also currently working through the certification process for both Birth and Postpartum Doula designations through DONA and completing the course work associated with obtaining a certification in PMAD through PSI.
